Other Tools: Scissors, yarn needle (or a hook can be used instead)

This granny square can be a foundational block for many projects such as pillowcases, jackets, bags, vests, and more.

You can pick your favorite colors and yarn to make it uniquely yours. I used cotton aran yarn and a 4.5mm hook, but you can choose any other yarn. To pick the right hook for your yarn, follow the instructions provided by the yarn manufacturer.

The X Granny Square is relatively easy and quick to make, making it excellent for crocheters of any skill level.
